What are sender lists? Why do I want to view/edit them?

Everyone has two sender lists- a "Safe Sender" list, and a "Blocked Sender" list. Messages from your Safe Senders will always be delivered unless they are judged to be extremely dangerous by PreofPoint, and messages from your Blocked Senders will always be blocked.

How do I access my Sender Lists?

Once you log in to ProofPoint (check out Getting Started if you're not sure how to log in), click Allow/Block Sender lists on the right-hand side:

Updating Safe and Blocked Senders

From the Sender Lists page, you can enter (or remove) email addresses on a one-per-line basis. Here's an example:

Then click SAVE. That's it!

Some notes on adding Safe Senders

When you add a contact to Safe Senders, their emails receive a much lower amount of scrutiny from ProofPoint. That can be good if there's an issue where their emails are constantly being quarantined (i.e. their email server is misconfigured). However, if that person's account is later compromised and used to send malicious content, it's likely to not be blocked. Therefore it's important to use Safe Senders sparingly, and to always be cautious with any email that land in your inbox.

I allowed/blocked someone, but it's not working for my co-workers!

Sender Lists are managed on an individual basis, so changes you make will not effect other users. If you would like to allow/disallow a particular sender or domain at the company level, please open a ticket by emailing care@osmosis.net.
