Compatibility
ProLaw 2015 is not officially compatible with Office 2016 or Adobe Acrobat X.
Prerequisites
The following must be installed before ProLaw can be run the first time:
- Adobe Acrobat
- Office
- .NET Framework 3.5
To install the .NET 3.5 Framework, go to Programs & Features in the control panel, and toggle it on in the Windows Features dialog.
Setup
⚠️ The ProLawLocal shortcut is now deployed to user's desktop's automatically via GPO.
Note: On Prolaw 2017.2 and earlier, the user must have local administrator privileges. You can remove the privileges after the below steps if wanted.
- Create a shortcut on the user's desktop to the ProLawLocal.exe executable in the network share.
- Run the shortcut as an Administrator. ProLaw will install the Adobe & Office addons.
- Close out of ProLaw.
- Run ProLaw from the shortcut again, this time not as an Administrator. If you get no errors and ProLaw opens, you're good.
- If you get an error about needing to run as an administrator for the Office Addins to install, close out of ProLaw and run the attached registry file. Then re-launch ProLaw and that should suppress the error.
